Elle comprend plus de 20 000 programmes, tous essayés avant d'être intégrés au catalogue, les programmes faisant double emploi sans apport nouveau étant rejetés. Les nouveautés et mises à jour sont distribuées mensuellement par cédérom. PSL étant une entreprise commerciale, peu de programmes du catalogue en ligne font l'objet d'un lien pour téléchargement. Néanmoins, le catalogue peut s'avérer être un outil de recherche initiale utile (nom de l'auteur, nom du programme pour une recherche de site Web ou une localisation FTP).
